Headhunters finally got me. I was hired to transmute an in-house studio into a creative boutique. At least that’s what I was trying to do by hiring top talent, establishing a video production house, and inspiring fresh thinking in a tired creative department. And it was going pretty well until 2020.
Internova was a $5 billion travel conglomerate before Covid. Don’t feel too bad for them, it’s still 2.5…
What a trip.
Did I sell out? Hard to say since someone else was getting a third of my paycheck. It was fun designing global creative systems and managing content supply chains but I didn’t get to apply my craft very often. I kinda loved jet-setting again after so long but it wasn’t worth having to furlough 25 people in one day and then call the CMO to receive mine.
But before we turned out the lights, I rebranded one of our premier travel agencies and created a new website for them because I had promised we would.
